Eternity is the Death of Time represents a speculative history of the Universe, from the coruscating primum mobile of the Big Bang, through a period of relative stability before entropy forces a collapse into extremely low-energy states and achieves the true finality of heat death. Stars dwindle and the gaping maws of black holes evaporate into wisps of half-matter, less substantial even than ghosts. The work of Change begins to slow and its ever-watchful brother, Time, slows with it until eventually they stop, preserved forever in an eternal stasis.
